Job Summary:

Join our team as a Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist and provide in-house care across labor and delivery, triage, antepartum, and postpartum units. You’ll manage unassigned patients, support staff midwives and physicians, and serve as a trusted resource for Emergency Department gynecology consultations. Job Description:

• Provides continuous in-house midwifery coverage and clinical care for labor and delivery, triage, antepartum and postpartum floors.
• Manages triage, care of unassigned patients, obstetric care, including rounding and deliveries for midwifery patients. Attends spontaneous vaginal deliveries and performs necessary repairs, for midwifery patients.
• First Assists: Assists OB/GYNs with Cesarean sections and other surgical procedures as able.
• Consultations: Provides unit backup support, and multidisciplinary care case management as time allows.
• Gynecology: Serves as point of contact to the ED for GYN concerns arising with appropriate consult to AHG GYN team for midwifery patients.
• In-box and phone triage: Manages the site AHG midwifery inbox and triage for AHG midwifery patients.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team.
• Works to develop interdisciplinary plans of care that address the unique physical, cultural, socioeconomic, psychological and spiritual factors that may affect the health status of the woman.
• Assumes a leadership role in establishing and monitoring standards of practice to improve patient care in collaboration with other nursing experts as appropriate.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Serves as a clinical resource while supporting the professional development of colleagues and supervising medical, midwifery, and resident learners during labor, delivery, and inpatient clinical rotations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Nursing (MSN), Masters in Midwifery (MS) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus in Midwifery
• 3+ years active midwifery clinical experience, with strong skills in in-patient labor and delivery
• First-assist experience
• Experience with high-risk OB

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (not required for those that have a Certified Midwife (CM) license)
• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
  ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
  ◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $130,000 to $145,000 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
