Chemistry Stockroom Lab Assistant

Salary/Position Classification

• $13.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 5 hours per week - Monday through Friday 
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. This position supports the chemistry department in the stockroom to handle the busy academic year demands of teaching labs.

All Chemistry Lab Assistants will be provided with the proper lab safety training prior to beginning work in the stockroom.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting up teaching labs 
• Prepare chemicals 
• Keep stockroom inventory 
• Issue supplies and equipment to students at the window 
• Wash glassware 
• Some evenings may be needed to man the window for students to approach 

Required Competencies

• Ability to complete work within a given time frame
• Good communication skills
• Ability to keep an organized and neat work area.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Knowledge of basic scientific concepts
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge of chemistry
  Completion of one or more chemistry course
