Chennai (ex Madras) Supply Chain AI lead (Procurement)

Job Description

Capgemini is a global major in value-added Digital Supply Chain services for its clients. This is also a key focus area of organization growth. This role will lead the transformation of procurement organizations through the adoption of Agentic AI, GenAI, and intelligent automation. The Agentic AI Lead will define and drive the vision for autonomous, data-driven procurement across the Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle, enabling smarter sourcing decisions, supplier collaboration, risk mitigation, and cost optimization.

AI Strategy & Transformation Vision:-

• Define and execute the Agentic AI vision and roadmap for procurement transformation programs
• Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases such as: Autonomous sourcing, Intelligent supplier selection and onboarding, Contract intelligence and obligation management, Spend optimization and compliance monitoring
• Align AI strategy with business objectives including cost savings, supplier resilience, risk mitigation, and working capital optimization
• Drive enterprise adoption of GenAI, AI agents, and decision intelligence frameworks across procurement

Solution Architecture & Design: -

• Design end-to-end agent-based procurement architectures across Source-to-Pay processes: Strategic sourcing and category management, Supplier management and collaboration, Contract lifecycle management, Procure-to-Pay operations,
• Define interaction models between AI agents, procurement users, and enterprise systems
• Integrate AI capabilities with ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, etc.
• Establish scalable data, model, and governance frameworks to enable AI solution development and deployment
• Enable intelligent workflows for supplier risk monitoring, sourcing optimization, and automated decision-making

Innovation & Thought Leadership: -

• Provide thought leadership to build Agentic AI assets, frameworks, and knowledge capital
• Develop AI-led Procurement transformation offerings and support large deal pursuits with differentiated solutions
• Create reusable accelerators, demos, and solution artifacts to strengthen GTM capabilities
• Build POVs on autonomous Procurement & Self-service Sourcing, multi-agent orchestration in S2P Workflow, and Ethical AI governance in Procurement operations
• Track emerging trends (LLMs, digital twins, simulation, reinforcement learning) and translate them into actionable opportunities
• Publish whitepapers, engage in client forums, and contribute to positioning as a market leader in Agentic AI
• Technical: - Experience with: GenAI / LLMs (copilots, contract intelligence, knowledge agents), AI/ML models in spend analytics, supplier risk, and optimization, Agentic AI / multi-agent frameworks and decision intelligence systems.
• Exposure to platforms: SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer and Cloud AI ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks)
• Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and analytics
• Functional: Deep expertise in Source-to-Pay processes like Strategic sourcing and category management, Supplier management and procurement operations, Contract lifecycle management and compliance. Strong understanding of procurement KPIs (cost savings, spend visibility, supplier performance, risk)
• Analytical: Ability to analyze Procurement chain operational data, high-level company financial to identify opportunities, develop insights and prepare business cases.
• Familiarity with various AI-first or AI-hybrid commercial models is beneficial.
• Strong business acumen and execution experience in Procurement process and systems

Primary Skills

• 14+ years of experience in years of experience in procurement transformation, Procurement Consulting, or digital transformation with proven track record of delivering AI/analytics-led procurement initiatives
• Experience in FMCG/CPG/Retail/Manufacturing industry. Multinational exposure is preferred
• Strong exposure to procurement platforms and ERP systems
• Deep understanding of Procurement pain points and transformation levers
• Relevant Agentic AI specific certifications
• Certifications in procurement (CIPS) or analytics/AI (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Tier-1 Engineering Colleges preferred)
• MBA Operations/Supply Chain/Logistics /Engineering (preferred)
