The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is accountable for defining and executing the organization's enterprise
technology, digital, data, analytics and AI strategy in alignment with its strategic ambition. The role ensures that
technology enables revenue growth, customer engagement, operational excellence, cost efficiency, regulatory
compliance, cyber resilience and superior employee/customer experience. The CIO provides enterprise-wide
technology leadership, governs technology investment, drives data-led decisioning, and ensures measurable
business value from technology spend.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field; a Master's
degree/MBA is an advantage.
• 12–15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with 5+ years at executive level leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrable delivery of large-scale modernization, cloud migration, cybersecurity uplift, and data
programmes.
• Strong background in IT governance/ITIL, Enterprise Architecture, and portfolio management.
• Track record managing multi-million-naira budgets and complex vendor ecosystems.
• Cloud certification/knowledge — AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• AI/Data Science executive certification or demonstrable AI governance training.
• COBIT 2019, ITIL 4, TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise technology governance certification.
• Fintech, payments, open banking or digital transformation certification would be an advantage.
• Proven experience leading enterprise data, analytics or AI programmes.
• Experience delivering digital channels, customer onboarding, API platforms and data-driven customer
engagement.
• Experience with AI governance, data privacy, model risk management and responsible AI adoption.
• Strong understanding of banking, payments, treasury, corporate banking, customer lifecycle and regulatory
requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to link technology investments to measurable business value, cost reduction and revenue
enablement.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, payments, telecoms) is a plus.
