What you'll do
- Lead the delivery of safe and effective care to oncology patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, radiotherapy, and palliative care.
- Ensure adherence to national oncology guidelines (e.g., UKONS, NICE), protocols, and treatment pathways.
- Maintain personal clinical competencies and act as an expert resource and role model in oncology nursing practice.
- Coordinate safe administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT), ensuring all staff involved are appropriately trained and competent.
- Oversee compliance with all regulatory, professional, and organisational standards, including those from CQC, HIS, HIW, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Conduct and support clinical audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
- Lead on infection prevention and control, medicine management, and safeguarding within the oncology department.
- Ensure oncology services comply with local and national clinical governance frameworks, including management of chemotherapy-related adverse events and oncological emergencies (e.g., neutropenic sepsis).

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
