The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a well-established Belfast law firm that has experienced significant growth and continues to expand its litigation practice.

This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking for genuine ownership of their work, a high-quality caseload and the opportunity to develop their career within a growing practice.

The firm has an established reputation across clinical negligence, personal injury and wider litigation, with the team handling a varied range of complex and challenging matters.

You'll manage your own caseload, work directly with clients and have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Partners, Counsel and medical experts on interesting and high-value litigation.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including:

• Managing your own clinical negligence caseload.
• Advising clients throughout the lifecycle of their claims.
• Assessing merits, liability and quantum and developing case strategy.
• Drafting pleadings, correspondence, witness statements and other legal documentation.
• Progressing matters through the County Court and High Court.
• Instructing and liaising with Counsel and medical experts.
• Reviewing medical records and other evidence.
• Conducting legal research and applying relevant legislation and case law.
• Managing disclosure and discovery.
• Preparing matters for hearings, settlement and trial.
• Maintaining strong client relationships and providing regular updates.
• Managing deadlines and progressing files effectively.

About You

We're keen to speak with an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and enjoys working directly with clients.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong clinical negligence litigation experience.
• Experience managing your own caseload from instruction through to resolution.
• A good understanding of the Northern Ireland litigation process.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• The ability to assess complex information and identify key legal issues.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• A practical, professional and client-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
