What you'll do
- Develops competency in clinical practice including appropriate drug therapy for patients and prevention/resolution of drug related problems.
- Develops competency to evaluate patients for drug-drug, drug-food, drug-lab, and drug-disease interactions.
- Individualizes drug therapy regimens based on patient's size, organ functions, and disease states.
- Facilitates medication-related continuity of care at admission, transfer and discharge.
- Reviews and accurately interprets medication orders.
- Develops competency in dispensing and compounding medications consistent with good pharmaceutical practice including compounding technique, packaging, and labeling.
- Practices in compliance with department policies & procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulations.
- Ensures formulary adherence, recommends cost effective therapies to providers, and minimizes waste in daily practice.
- Actively supports procedures and initiatives to prevent medication events and reports events through appropriate channels.
- Actively supports department medication safety and quality improvement activities.
- Orients/trains new pharmacy team members, may work with interns, residents and students to guide daily activities, and provides direction to pharmacy technicians.

- Every 3rd weekend.

Pay Range:
$54.90 - $82.35Major Responsibilities:
