About this role
Job Summary
In the capacity of Cloud & System Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end operational and project support across Active Directory, the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and Security Operations platforms. You will ensure the continuity, security, and performance of enterprise infrastructure services, leveraging expertise in directory services, cloud identity, endpoint protection, managed security, and web application firewall environments. You will also manage incidents, problems, requests, and changes while ensuring full compliance with security and operational standards.
Provide 24/5 operational support for:
Directory, Collaboration & Identity Services Support
Directory & Identity Operations
- Provide operational support for enterprise directory and identity services.
- Manage user lifecycle tasks: provisioning, deprovisioning, access updates, and periodic access reviews.
- Maintain groups, permissions, roles, and security policies to ensure correct access control.
- Support authentication processes and directory synchronisation between environments.
- Help enforce identity hygiene such as MFA, strong password policies, and privileged access standards.
Collaboration & Messaging Support
- Administer email, communication, and collaboration platforms.
- Manage mailboxes, groups, shared resources, and platform configurations.
- Troubleshoot issues related to delivery, access, permissions, and collaboration features.
- Conduct routine health checks to ensure service reliability.
Incident Troubleshooting & Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve incidents involving identity, directory, and collaboration services.
- Escalate complex issues with clear documentation and evidence.
- Perform basic root cause analysis and apply best practices during resolution.
Change & Configuration Management
- Implement approved changes, perform routine maintenance, and validate configurations.
- Follow internal change control processes and maintain accurate records of updates.
Problem Management & Service Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and support long-term corrective actions.
- Document operational findings and update knowledge bases to improve service delivery.
Security Operations Support
Security Monitoring & Triage
- Monitor security alerts and identify potential threats.
- Perform first-level analysis to determine severity and legitimacy.
- Escalate confirmed or high-risk incidents.
Threat Investigation
- Review suspicious activity such as unusual logins, phishing attempts, or malware indicators.
- Gather basic logs and evidence to support investigations.
- Help filter false positives and validate alerts.
Incident Response Support
- Execute predefined containment actions (e.g., isolate device, disable account, block source).
- Document actions and prepare handovers to L2/L3.
- Follow security playbooks and escalation paths.
Email & Endpoint Security Support
- Triage suspicious emails and attachments.
- Assist with initial malware containment and endpoint checks.
Vulnerability & Hygiene Support
- Review vulnerability findings and flag items needing remediation.
- Track basic security hygiene gaps (patching, configurations).
Logging & Reporting
- Collect and review logs for early indicators of compromise.
- Maintain incident records and operational notes.
- Follow internal processes for equipment handling, including chain-of-custody protocols.
Required Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in system administration, IT operations, or security operations roles.
- Experience supporting enterprise environments using Microsoft technologies.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, identity lifecycle, and authentication protocols.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
- Basic understanding of SOC workflows: alert triage, phishing analysis, endpoint security, and SIEM/EDR tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Ability to collect logs, troubleshoot issues, and support configuration/maintenance tasks
