The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO takes pride in recruiting, developing and retaining highly talented individuals. Our co-op programs give young professionals the opportunity to gain a fundamental understanding of New York electricity markets, bulk electricity systems and how we plan for New York State’s energy future.

The NYISO is seeking an Interconnection Data and Automation Co-Op to support reporting, data visualization, and process improvement initiatives within the Interconnection Coordination department. The student will work with data maintained in the Salesforce portal to create clear, useful reporting and visualization solutions for teams across Planning and Operations.

The student will also support efforts to improve the Facility Modification review process through automation and analytical tools. This opportunity combines power systems exposure with data analysis, programming, process improvement, and collaboration across technical teams.

The NYISO offers the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely, providing our employees with an enhanced work life balance. This internship will be a hybrid program, with the expectation that employees will be local to the Albany, NY area.
