About this role

A Commissioning Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the commissioning process of building systems, industrial plants, or manufacturing facilities. The role ensures that all systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operating safely and in accordance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations before handover.

Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.

Lead and manage the commissioning team, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.

Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and clients.

Ensure all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and process systems are commissioned according to project specifications.

Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and commissioning documentation.

Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and system handover activities.

Monitor project progress and resolve technical issues that arise during commissioning.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Conduct inspections, witness testing, and verify system performance.

Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, test records, and handover documentation.

Coordinate training for operations and maintenance personnel.

Manage project close-out and final acceptance with the client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 8–15+ years of experience in construction, commissioning, or industrial projects.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent is an advantage, where applicable.
