What you'll do

  • Generate software development roadmaps/strategies and cost estimates for Radio Frequency intensive systems.
  • Work with User Community to develop technical Communication requirements.
  • Coordinate with PM and Systems Readiness Directorate to achieve Airworthiness Qualification for aircraft components as required.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and standards for use in Software Defined Radio systems.
  • Perform countermeasures and vulnerability analysis for Radio Frequency systems.
  • Assist PM personnel in developing contractual requirements associated with technical efforts to include primarily Statement of Work development.
  • Support implementation and development of digital signal processing of Ultra-Wide Bandwidth software defined radio (SDR) systems utilizing open standards SOSA and define guidance for future development and standardization.
  • Coordinate frequencies in support of all Apache-related test and initial fielding activities.
  • Obtain and maintain access to a SIPR account for corresponding with DOD spectrum and frequency management agencies.
  • Track status of all Apache-related Radio/Temporary Frequency Authorizations (RFAs/TFAs) and submit new RFA/TFA requests as required.
  • Keep PM informed of technical status of assigned tasks, significant events, controversial issues, program reviews, and other relevant issues.
  • Be able to meet challenging deadlines.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols used in military Radio Frequency communication systems.
  • Experience with developing countermeasures against Radio Frequency communications systems (jamming, spoofing, replay attacks, etc.)
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting complex hardware/software intensive systems.

IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Communication Integrated Product Team Lead supporting the Mission Equipment organization in the Apache Attack Helicopter Project Management Office (AAH-PMO) based in the Huntsville, AL area. This position will serve as the communication focal point for the AH-64D/E within the AAH-PMO.  This position requires a highly motivated individual with knowledge of digital signal processing and experience working with complex Radio Frequency Systems. The candidate for this position must be able to work independently and be able to build strong relationships across multiple project offices with all levels of government employees.

Job Responsibilities:   

  • Generate software development roadmaps/strategies and cost estimates for Radio Frequency intensive systems.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Education and General experience: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 5 – 10 years of experience
  • Understanding of current DoD acquisition framework and procedures
  • Working knowledge of AH-64 aircraft systems, weapons systems as well as systems engineering processes and procedures is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must to facilitate coordination with configuration management, contracts, outside contractors/vendors, engineers, the Apache User community, and project/program leadership.

Clearance Requirements:   The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required. Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
