Location: Can be in either Edmonton or Calgary or Surrey
Duration: 8-month internship (January 2027 to August 2027)
Type of Role: Hybrid (3-fixed days in office and 2-days at home)

Finning Canada is seeking a Communications Intern to join our Communications Team who will play a key role in providing day-to-day support to the Communications team while also having opportunities to assist other members of the Global Sustainability team as business needs require.

This internship offers hands-on experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, content development, and communications planning within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.99 to $25.00 per hour, depending on the selected candidate's current year of study and relevant experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to gain practical experience and build a foundation for a career in communications while contributing to meaningful initiatives at Finning Canada.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

Story Development:  

  • Work with the communications team to track down story details needed for internal or external stories. This may involve meeting with and interviewing Finning individual contributors and leaders, or conducting online research. 

  • Draft and edit story content for internal or external stories.  

  • Support the development of the weekly Traction Roundup newsletter by compiling submissions, editing copy, laying out the newsletter or finding photos/videos for publication.  

  • Provide accurate and timely responses to project requests. 

  • Safeguard confidentiality of projects, meetings, and sensitive information at all times.  

  • Represent Finning ethically and professionally in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.  

Administrative Tasks:  

  • Support the maintenance of the Finning intranet called Traction by adding, deleting or updating content or pages on the site.

  • Assist in organizing meetings, events, and learning sessions that align with communications’ goals.

Education & Experience:​
