About this role
Contributes as a team member to facilitate and enhance access to, appropriate utilization of, and satisfaction with AHS services by patients and community members. Helps to plan and implement advocacy activities through patient and community education and engagement. Job functions span duties in Member Services, Support Services, Clinical Services, and Community Services.
In 2004, health counselors, social workers and educators from Asian Health Services, the East Bay Asian Youth Center and Oakland Unified School District, recognized a rising trend of sexual exploitation and recruitment amongst women and girls in Oakland.
Today, Banteay Srei has grown into a flourishing youth resource center that provides a safe place for survivors/victims of sex trafficking, sexual assault and trauma. Young women and girls can build community and apply for paid internships. Programs include social, peer, and intergenerational support, healing arts, life skills-building, and leadership development.
