What you'll do

  • Own product regulatory compliance and identify applicable regulations, standards, certifications and approvals across relevant Indian and international markets.
  • Conduct product safety and regulatory risk assessments, establish risk classification and define risk mitigation measures.
  • Maintain a Product Compliance & Risk Register with clear ownership and closure timelines.
  • Drive testing and certification requirements, including coordination with laboratories, certification agencies and consultants; review test reports and certificates.
  • Partner with Product, R&D, Quality, Sourcing and Design teams from the NPD/concept stage to build compliance into product specifications, components, BOMs, packaging and manuals.
  • Provide compliance clearance at key NPD stages and proactively identify risks that could lead to launch delays, redesigns or commercial losses.
  • Ensure products sourced from international brands/suppliers meet Indian regulatory, certification and labelling requirements, in addition to country-of-origin requirements.
  • Drive supplier/factory compliance, including review of certifications, quality systems, test reports, manufacturing controls and corrective actions.
  • Review and approve product labels, packaging, manuals, statutory declarations, warnings and claims across packaging, websites, marketplaces and marketing materials.
  • Manage applicable Environmental & EPR compliance, including e-waste, battery waste, plastic packaging, RoHS/hazardous substances and recycling/disposal requirements.
  • Work with Imports, SCM and Sourcing teams to ensure regulatory readiness for imports, including documentation, registrations, markings and applicable restrictions.
  • Monitor changes in laws, standards and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the existing product portfolio.

  • 7 years of relevant experience in Product Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, Quality or Risk Management.
  • Strong exposure to Indian and international product regulations and certification frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience working with testing laboratories, certification bodies, suppliers and international manufacturers.
  • Strong understanding of product safety, testing & certification, electrical/electronic standards, battery safety, EPR/environmental compliance, labelling/packaging and supplier compliance.
  • Strong analytical, documentation and governance skills with the ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical product requirements.
  • Strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently drive issues to closure.

Nice to have

  • Experience in consumer durables, appliances, consumer electronics, electrical products or hardlines preferred.

Role Overview
This role will own end-to-end product compliance, regulatory readiness, product safety and risk management across the product lifecycle — from concept and sourcing through testing, certification, import and commercial launch.
The role will work closely with Product, R&D, Quality, Sourcing, Imports, SCM, Legal and international brand partners to ensure products are safe, legally compliant, properly tested, correctly documented and market-ready.

Key Responsibilities
