Configuration & Asset Manager

About us:
The Future Joint Command and Staff Trainer (FJCAST) programme will transform the delivery of senior staff training, enabling Joint Headquarters, operational commands, coalition partners and allied nations to train together across Land, Maritime, Air, Space and Cyberspace domains. Through the integration of simulation, synthetic environments, exercise design, data exploitation, operational networks and coalition interoperability, FJCAST will support the training, preparation, experimentation and evaluation of UK and allied operational headquarters.


The role:
The Configuration and Assets Manager is responsible for managing all elements of data, documentation control, and assets within the FJCAST Programme.  This will involve both internally generated documents as well as those from the customer, and from partner and sub-contracting organisations.  As well as maintaining the project repository, the incumbent will be responsible for the running of regular Configuration Change Control Boards whilst managing a significant number of military assets.   

 Primarily home-based but must be prepared to travel to support internal and customer meetings.  Main duties will include:

Leading a small team of equipment administrators 
The Asset Manager will be responsible for a number of Government Furnished Assets (GFA) across multiple sites 
Maintaining accurate records of training equipment to inform the GFA holder,  
Attendance at relevant meetings 
Oversee the management and maintenance of training equipment assets across the Selborne Estates 
Provide regular reports on asset utilisation, maintenance schedules, and any issues related to training equipment 
Conduct Training Equipment Audits as required 
Work closely with other Key Stakeholders teams to ensure seamless integration of training equipment into educational programs 
Develop, and Implement updates to the Asset Database 
Oversee the population and ongoing maintenance of the Asset Database 
Manage data quality and ensure data governance 
Create reports and dashboards to monitor assets and identify improvement opportunities 
Collaborate with teams and the business to ensure effective asset management throughout the life of the contract 
Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance protocols, and relevant regulations 
Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’ 
Any other duties required to complete the Training Equipment Service in the management of assets 
Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme. 


Essential:  

A thorough understanding of records management
