Job Description:

Position Summary:  

Manage supplier approvals & qualifications Follow up on new product development, supplier surveillance and quality system audit. Support improvement activities of suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:

(List in order of importance the essential functions of the job (approx. three to five) and the approximate percentage of time spent on each of the activities and describe what must be accomplished):

Quality Inspections: 60%

• Perform First Article Inspection checks and Source Inspections of cabin equipment with regards to quality standards, engineering data and specifications, supplier drawings as well as aviation authority and Airbus requirements at suppliers site
• Perform: Quality Inspections as per defined standards, final check and attestation, Stop Points, out of sequence work and complete relevant documentation.
• Identify and evaluate internal and external (industry, authorities, legal) requirements of quality processes
• Initiate and follow up quality improvement measurements from FAI to aircraft delivery

Create finding reports and provide data: 20%

• Evaluation and reporting of supplier's quality level
• Prepare and initiate Events and Significant Events (internally and against suppliers) and support multi-functional teams
• Support planning and implementation of continuous improvements and prevention measures incl. decision making
• Analyze comprehensive quality problems and matters (NCs, internal and external customer queries, customer complaints, rejected and new processes / procedures etc.) using Driver Model, 8D report in multi-functional teams in order to define immediate actions, solutions and remedy for the problem incl. monitoring and visualizing of the effectiveness

Support Root Cause and Correction Action Plans and Projects: 10%

• Support investigations and root cause analysis from reported quality / technical issues from shopfloor team and various stakeholders.
• Ensure operational surveillance / oversight (people, product and process) of delegated / subcontracted tasks.
• Contributing and leading small and medium sized projects regarding quality processes and improvements

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

• Preferred: Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Practical Problem Solving, e-concession, Quality Fundamentals, Monitor/Secure Supplier Product Conformance, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Product/Service LifeCycle Qualification, Supplier Portal, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

• English (Reading – Speaking – Writing: Fluent/Negotiation)

Technical Systems Proficiency:

Salary Range:

Salary range based on the required profile: $115,000 - $125,000/year.  Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
