Set on Victoria's rugged south-west coast at the end of the Great Ocean Road, this vibrant regional city sits roughly three hours' drive west of Melbourne and is home to around 33,000 people. It's known for its swimming and surf beaches, the annual return of southern right whales to the nursery at Logans Beach, walking and cycling tracks along a spectacular coastline, and some of Australia's best dairy and produce country in the hinterland.

There's a university campus in town, strong primary and secondary schools, established childcare, and a lively café, restaurant and festival scene — all supported by housing costs well below Melbourne's, with a genuine mix of family homes, character properties and coastal lifestyle options.
