The Construction Contracts Manager will oversee the commercial, contractual and operational delivery of multiple utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects, from contract award through to handover. The role will lead project teams, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and contractual standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management

  • Administer and manage contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead contractual correspondence, notices, change management, compensation events, early warnings, claims, extensions of time, and dispute avoidance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Manage client and subcontractor contractual relationships.
  • Review and negotiate subcontract agreements and supply contracts.
  • Support commercial teams in the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts.

2. Project Delivery Oversight

  • Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and site delivery teams.
  • Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality, and safety targets.
  • Ensure project controls and governance procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Support mobilisation, execution, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure project reporting accurately reflects current project status and key risks.

3. Commercial Management

  • Drive commercial performance across allocated projects.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost reports, and project profitability.
  • Identify risks to commercial performance and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support procurement activities and supplier negotiations.
  • Review payment applications, valuations, and subcontractor accounts.

4. Contractual Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Review Employer's Requirements and contract deliverables.
  • Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, and potential commercial exposures.
  • Lead risk workshops and contractual reviews.
  • Maintain contractual risk registers and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure all contractual entitlements are protected and properly documented.

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with developers, Owner's Engineers, consultants, utilities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead progress meetings and contractual discussions.
  • Present project performance, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Produce concise, decision-ready reports to support executive decision-making.

6. Renewable Energy Project Interface Management

  • Coordinate interfaces between civil, electrical, commissioning, utility, and grid connection activities.
  • Support the management of grid connection requirements with ESB Networks and EirGrid.
  • Monitor compliance with project-specific technical requirements.
  • Support technical teams in the management of design development and construction interfaces.
  • Assist in the management of utility-scale solar PV and BESS project delivery challenges.

7. Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive best practice contract administration and project governance.
  • Support the development of departmental procedures, systems, and operating models.
  • Contribute to lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the use of digital project management tools including Procore and related reporting systems.
  • Support the mentoring and development of Project Managers and wider delivery teams.

Qualifications & Experience
