What you'll do

  • Support all contract management activities for a diverse portfolio of contracts.
  • Negotiate and provide cradle-to-grave contract administration for CP, FFP, T&M Government contracts including RFP analysis, hands-on proposal development and review, the development of terms and conditions, coordination of appropriate internal reviews, strategic contract negotiation, and contract/task order administration and execution.
  • Responsible for overall contract compliance of assigned tasks in accordance with contract requirements, company policy and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team of contract professionals supporting proposal preparation and a portfolio of contracts.
  • Lead negotiations; demonstrate ability to resolve multi-faceted and complex contractual/customer issues as they arise; resolve performance issues; identify risks and propose mitigation strategies; guide others through change management; draft clear, concise, and legally sound contracts; effectively review and analyze contract terms to include intellectual property provisions; and develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task and prioritize work activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exemplary soft skills for interaction with customers as well as company program teams, contracts, finance, and project control.
  • Review and negotiate non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and licenses as required.

  • In-depth knowledge of international, commercial, and Government contracting, U.S. Government regulations (FAR / DFARS), and all contract types: Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF), Fixed Price Level of Effort (FPLOE), Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), and General Service Administration (GSA) type contracts.
  • Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound business decisions, handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include well-developed analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate contract risks as well as coordinate appropriate reviews in accordance with Leidos policy and procedures.
  • Remote performance is offered; however, the candidate must be available to report to the Huntsville office on a regular basis.

Leidos currently has an opening for an experienced Contracts Manager in the Defense Sensors Business Area team within the Defense Sector. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills and experience to support the research, development, and production of cutting-edge technology to protect our warfighters and country. The selected candidate will support all contract management activities for a diverse portfolio of contracts.

Individual contributor role. The position is based in Huntsville, Alabama with telework available.

Primary Responsibilities

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
