Corporate Strategist, Finance & Investment Strategy

We are looking for an exceptional Corporate Strategist, Finance & Investment Strategy to work at the intersection of corporate strategy, finance, capital allocation, investments, and company building. You will work directly with Avathon’s executive leadership and partner closely with Finance, Product, Corporate Development, and business leaders to evaluate strategic investments, growth opportunities, partnerships, and other decisions that shape Avathon’s long-term trajectory.

This role will help develop the financial and investment frameworks behind Avathon’s most important strategic decisions from evaluating capital allocation, strategic investments, partnerships, acquisitions, and long-range growth opportunities. This is an opportunity to combine rigorous financial analysis with strategic judgment and directly influence how a rapidly scaling Physical AI company invests its resources and builds long-term enterprise value.

What You'll Work On

• Help define Avathon’s financial and investment strategy, connecting company priorities, growth opportunities, capital requirements, and long-term value creation
• Develop financial models, investment cases, and scenario analyses to support major strategic decisions across products, markets, geographies, partnerships, and corporate initiatives
• Evaluate capital allocation decisions and develop frameworks for prioritizing investments across product development, AI and technology, market expansion, strategic partnerships, and other growth initiatives
• Assess potential strategic investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate development opportunities, including strategic rationale, financial returns, valuation, synergies, risks, and integration considerations
• Develop market sizing, revenue models, unit economics, profitability analyses, and long-range financial scenarios for new products, industry verticals, and market opportunities
• Analyze Avathon’s business model, pricing, margins, cost structure, and growth drivers to identify opportunities to improve scalability, capital efficiency, and long-term financial performance
• Monitor the AI, industrial technology, and investment landscape, including public companies, private companies, venture and growth investments, M&A activity, valuations, and emerging business models
• Support strategic planning and long-range company modeling, connecting market opportunity, product strategy, commercial growth, investment requirements, and financial outcomes
• Develop executive-level analyses and recommendations for Board, investor, financing, partnership, and strategic planning discussions
• Work directly with senior leadership on high-priority initiatives involving capital strategy, investment decisions, corporate development, financing, and other company-level strategic priorities.

What We’re Looking For:

• MBA required from a leading global university, with a strong record of academic and professional achievement
• Approximately 3–5 years of pre-MBA experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, management consulting, corporate development, corporate strategy or strategic finance
• Strong interest in AI, enterprise technology, industrial technology, investing, and the transformation of the physical economy
• Exceptional financial and analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, valuation, investment analysis, market sizing, scenario modeling, and business-case development
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate companies, markets, technologies, business models, and investment opportunities and develop clear perspectives on strategic and financial attractiveness
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital allocation, valuation, investment returns, financial statements, and transaction economics
• Ability to take an ambiguous strategic or investment question, structure the analysis, identify the critical variables, and translate the findings into clear recommendations and executable decisions
• Strong business judgment and the ability to balance strategic rationale, financial returns, technology differentiation, execution risk, and long-term enterprise value
• Intellectual curiosity and sufficient technology fluency to evaluate emerging developments across Physical AI, agentic AI, enterprise software, and industrial technology from both a strategic and investment perspective
• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial and strategic analyses into clear narratives for executives, Board members, and investors
• Comfortable working directly with executives and operating across functions in a high-growth environment where investment priorities, technology, markets, and company strategy are evolving rapidly.

Compensation & Benefits

• California base salary range: $150,000 – $190,000 USD (based on experience)
