Position: Course Developer, Pediatric Perfusionist
Department: Cardiovascular Perfusion
Status: Contract Part-time (12 weeks with opportunity to extend for course instruction/delivery)

Salary: $5,400 lump sum for a 12-week contract (paid in two installments of $2,700 at 6 weeks and $2,700 upon completion)
Hours: 3 hours per week

Job Description

Position Summary
The Michener Institute is seeking an experienced clinician educator with expertise in pediatric cardiac surgery and simulation-based education to support the development of a new pediatric simulation curriculum. The CVP program is the largest and first master’s level program in Canada, training cardiovascular perfusionists to work in health care settings across Ontario. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to develop pediatric simulations within the CVP Program. This position provides the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to develop a high quality educational experience to future perfusionists.

This role is a contract position. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leadership role in all aspects of simulation design and development of interprofessional pediatric cardiac surgery simulation scenarios, student assessments, and evaluations. There is potential for contract renewal in January 2027 and February 2027 for individuals interested in serving as the lead instructor for delivery of the curriculum.
