Applications are now open for our 2026 Apprenticeship Intake Program at Cowal Gold Operations.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career with a leading gold mining company while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification. You'll gain hands-on experience, receive support from experienced tradespeople and mentors, and develop the skills needed for a successful career in the mining industry.

 

We are seeking motivated apprentices across the following trades:

 

Mobile Maintenance

 

• Apprentice Auto Electrician (1 position)

 

Fixed Plant Maintenance

 

• Apprentice Electrician (2 positions)
• Apprentice Fitter (Mechanical) (2 positions)

 

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll:

 

• Learn safe and effective maintenance practices in a large-scale mining environment
• Complete all apprenticeship and TAFE training requirements
• Develop practical trade skills through on-the-job experience
• Contribute to maintaining critical mining and processing equipment
• Participate in Evolution's safety-first culture and systems
• Build strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
• Take ownership of your learning and professional development

 

The successful apprentices will be based at Cowal Gold Operations, near West Wyalong, NSW, and work closely with supervisors, leading hands and experienced tradespeople throughout their apprenticeship.

We're looking for people who are motivated, reliable and eager to learn.

 

You'll bring:

 

• Completion of Year 10, Year 12 (HSC) or equivalent
• 17 years or above
• A strong commitment to safety
• High levels of motivation and enthusiasm
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work well within a team
• A willingness to learn and complete formal trade training
• Strong problem-solving skills and practical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• A current driver's licence (P Plate and above)

 

Previous exposure to electrical, mechanical, automotive or technical environments will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
