What you'll do

  • Preparation and consolidation of quarterly ACL execution result in accordance with IFRS 9 for the enterprise.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of ACL/PCL reporting through rigorous review, reconciliations, and validation procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze management and regulatory reports related to ACL/PCL, using tools to automate outputs.
  • Perform first-level investigations and escalation of issues/gaps with clear supporting documentation.
  • Design and maintain efficient, scalable workflows to support production and streamline analysis.
  • Support and enhance internal controls, governance, and audit readiness activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, audit, and regulatory expectations.
  • Apply strong self-review practices to verify accuracy of outputs and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Develop strong knowledge of IFRS 9 ACL methodologies, assumptions, and model outputs to support execution and analysis.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Credit Risk, Data Management, and Model Development to support end-to-end ACL processes.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits and regulatory reviews, provide supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Provide support to the Canadian Commercial and Wholesale Allowance teams as required.

  • 2+ years of experience in credit risk, finance, or accounting roles, preferably within a financial institution. Knowledge/Experience with IFRS 9 ACL processes preferred.

  • Highly responsive to time-sensitive requests and ad-hoc inquiries, with strong sense of urgency.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a strong control mindset in execution, including quality checks, identification of control gaps or weaknesses and supporting enhancement activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including hands-on experience with data mapping, data preparation and automation.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Department Overview:

Credit Risk Reporting & Allowance coordinates and produces a wide array of analysis, reporting, and insights largely associated with the Bank's credit portfolios, executes on the allowance methodology for the Canadian non-retail portfolios, and manages the allowance governance process. The group's mandate supports a broad array of stakeholders including the Risk Management Leadership Team and their respective groups, Finance, Investor Relations, the Businesses, our regulators, and at times the SET and the Board.

Job Overview:

Reporting to the AVP, Allowance for Credit Losses, the Risk Analyst will support the reporting, and analysis of the allowance and provision for credit losses (ACL and PCL) for the enterprise, including the preparation and consolidation of governance presentation materials. This role requires the practical application of IFRS 9 expected credit losses concepts, internal controls, data transformation, and visualization tools. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong critical thinking skills, who enjoys solving problems and working with data, with exceptional commitment to quality.
