Credit Risk Middle Office - Analyst

Support JPMorgan Chase's risk management by analysing and maintaining credit risk profiles for asset management clients across multiple products and jurisdictions. As part of Credit Risk Middle Office, a global team within Risk Reporting & Middle Office, you will have opportunities to support fund onboarding activities, partner with stakeholders across the firm, and drive continuous process improvements. 

 
As an Analyst within the Credit Risk Middle Office team, you will help to onboard new and existing asset management clients by assessing risk profiles and supporting the credit lines that enable our client activity. You will partner with lines of business to align client needs with our risk framework, supporting primarily derivatives trading and custody services. You will also contribute to process enhancements and stronger controls by identifying opportunities to improve how we work. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Analyse documentation (prospectuses, factsheets and financial accounts) to understand fund and client investment strategies, structure, and restrictions 
• Identify and escalate potential risk concerns, including indicators of alternative investment strategies, to support appropriate limit and documentation decisions 
• Investigate and complete client write-ups to support approval as eligible counterparties 
• Collaborate with lines of business to align client objectives with our risk framework and operating model 
• Create negotiation requests for legal documentation that facilitates trading activity 
• Perform annual reviews to ensure credit limits and risk ratings reflect the latest available financial information 
• Improve processes and controls to strengthen operational efficiency, including through responsible use of emerging technologies 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Entry level or experience in reporting, financial analytics, or a related role 
• Desire to develop expertise in the investments universe and risk management 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 
• Adaptability and learning mindset, including eagerness to learn new technologies 
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on data quality 
• Critical thinking and ability to work independently to drive issues to resolution 
• Ability to prioritise work and deliver continuous process improvements 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams, stakeholders, and locations 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline 
• Experience in risk management or another control function 
• Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, and Python
