About this role

  • Be a key part of a high-performing team delivering outstanding service across phone and digital channels

  • Join a supportive, Kiwi-owned organisation with great culture, free parking and seriously good coffee

The Customer Experience team is where Farmlands shows up for its shareholders, customers and internal teams. It’s where questions are answered, challenges are solved, and great service turns into lasting relationships. If you love helping people and want to grow your career in a team that sets the standard, this is your moment.

Our Story

The Customer Experience team is the heartbeat of Farmlands. We don’t just answer questions - we deliver an exceptional experience. We focus on first‑contact resolution and work together to make it easier for our shareholders, customers and internal teams across the motu to do business with us.

We’re committed to delivering the gold standard of customer service. Every day, we’re the first point of contact across the business - supporting everything from shareholding and Farmlands Card applications to orders, statements and AML requirements.

The role

This is a 12 month fixed-term role.

As a Customer Advisor, you’ll be the voice of Farmlands’ frontline, based in our Christchurch Support Office. You’ll build trusted relationships, solve problems with confidence, and support shareholders, customers and internal teams - working to clear standards of excellence with the autonomy to see things through and the support to grow as you go.

You’ll bring a responsive, customer‑first mindset and sound judgement to a wide range of enquiries. This is a role where curiosity is encouraged, learning is constant, and no two days are ever the same.

Along the way, you’ll gain exposure to the agri‑sector and the breadth of Farmlands’ operations while developing specialist knowledge including AML compliance. From day one, our innovative quarterly induction programme is designed to set you up for success, supported by ongoing learning and upskilling as your capability grows.

Why you’ll love this team

  • Supportive, inclusive culture with people who have your back

  • Ongoing learning, upskilling and clear internal career pathways

  • Exposure to the agri‑sector and the wider Farmlands business

  • Free parking, great coffee and a pet‑friendly office

  • Proudly Kiwi‑owned, values‑led and purpose‑driven

Mōhou ake | About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring exceptional customer service skills, strong organisation and communication, confidence juggling priorities, and a natural problem‑solving mindset.

Most importantly, you’ll align with our values - Be You, Minds Open, See It Through - and bring integrity, curiosity and a genuine desire to support the people who rely on Farmlands.

How to apply:

Join us and be part of a team that supports the people who feed New Zealand.

Instead of a cover letter, you’re welcome to introduce yourself through these two optional video application questions:

"In 60 seconds, tell us why you're interested in working at Farmlands."

"In 60 seconds, tell us about your affinity with the rural sector."

Video responses are one part of a broader, human-led selection process. If video isn’t your preference, you’re equally welcome to submit a written cover letter covering the above.

As part of the screening process you may be invited to complete a phone screen with an AI agent. Keep an eye out for an email and text message about setting this up.

Mō te Tukanga | About the Process

The future doesn't stand still, and neither do we. As part of our commitment to innovation, we may use Sam, our AI Recruitment Assistant, during the recruitment process. It's simply another way for us to get to know you and learn more about what you could bring to Farmlands.

If you're invited to chat with Sam, we'd encourage you to give it a go. It's quick, conversational and can be completed at a time that suits you. We're always looking for ways to improve the candidate experience, so we'd love your feedback too.

And don't worry – real people review every application and remain at the heart of every hiring decision.
