About this role

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's various product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more). Our Technical Solutions Engineers help manage customer relationships, in addition to providing level-two support to our other Support teams. In this role, you will be a part of a global team that provides support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud. You will troubleshoot any technical challenges for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, documentation updating, and coding/scripting. You will make our products continuously easier to adopt and to use by making improvements to the product, tools, processes, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical onboarding of global airlines and Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) onto Google Flights, integrating complex partner feeds and dedicating significant engineering effort to the implementation, scaling, and debugging of dynamic pricing structures.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for airlines, Business Development, and other internal teams, communicating complex technical issues clearly and driving initiatives to improve data quality.
  • Own end-to-end data quality frameworks across Google Flights, replacing manual processes by building automated validation pipelines, scalable data ingestion mechanisms, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Collaborate directly with Zurich-based Software Engineering and Product Management to test and ship backend improvements, regulatory compliance measures, and dynamic pricing updates.
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point to diagnose root causes of pricing mismatches, feed failures, and integration blockades using deep data analysis (SQL) and log inspection.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical, client-facing role such as Technical Account Management, Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or Technical Project Management.
  • Experience in software development in Java.
  • Experience with data analysis and querying using SQL.
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTTP, APIs, XML, JSON) and troubleshooting technical integrations.
  • Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation and data analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven experience scaling operations through process automation, third-party vendor management, or the application of new technologies (e.g., leveraging APIs, Large Language Model (LLMs).
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to act as an owner, who can work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for data and a focus on delivering high-quality user experiences.
  • A desire to improve the experience for millions of users worldwide.
