About the role
Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as a Demi Pastry Chef to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our luxury guests.
Critical responsibilities:

Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum services

Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
-
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served
-
Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served
-
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing
-
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
-
Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment

Prepare and cook food.

Set-up, clean and break down work station

Preparation and baking of all in house cakes, breads & pastries
Successful Candidates will have:

Previous experience in a similar environment will be viewed favorably
-
Trade qualification /be a qualified Pastry Chef

Strong food safety knowledge
-
Great communication skills
-
Ability to work in a team and autonomously

Passion for food and aspirations to grow your culinary career
