Denials Optimization Senior Analyst

We are looking for a Denials Optimization Senior Analyst to join the Denials Optimization & Process Efficiencies team. In this role, the Denials Optimization Senior Analyst will support revenue cycle performance improvement by analyzing denial trends, identifying root causes, and contributing to process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve key operational KPIs. This individual will focus on supporting researching payer-specific issues and identifying opportunities to improve outcomes.

The Team: The Denials Optimization & Process Efficiencies team is responsible for reducing operational friction, lowering cost per claim, and improving denial outcomes across the revenue cycle. The team partners closely with Operations, Business Intelligence, Training, Quality, and Technology teams to identify automation opportunities and standardize best‑in‑class workflows. Using data-driven insights and pilot-led experimentation, the team delivers scalable solutions that reduce manual workload and improve efficiency across payer and client programs.

Expected Compensation

$50,000 - $86,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
