About this role

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Green Hydrogen Business will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of green hydrogen projects, ensuring efficiency in engineering, process integration, conceptual design, cost, construction, safety, procurement, contract management, strategic planning, execution, and regulatory compliance. The AGM will provide strategic leadership in project planning, execution, and operations while ensuring alignment with industry standards and business objectives

Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Execution: • Oversee the end-to-end execution of green hydrogen projects, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). • Ensure timely completion of projects within the defined budget and quality parameters. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations. • Implement best practices in project execution to optimize efficiency and minimize risks. Engineering & Conceptual Design: • Lead engineering efforts from conceptual design to detailed engineering. • Ensure seamless integration of process and engineering solutions for green hydrogen production. • Collaborate with technology providers and R&D teams for innovative engineering approaches. Process & Manufacturing Management: • Ensure proper design, integration, and optimization of hydrogen production processes. • Work with technology providers and engineering teams to enhance production efficiency. • Monitor and improve plant performance in terms of reliability, availability, and efficiency. Process Integration: • Oversee the integration of process units to maximize efficiency and sustainability. • Ensure compatibility of various subsystems, including electrolysis, compression, and storage. Page 2 of 3 • Optimize plant configurations for improved performance and cost-effectiveness. Contract Management & Procurement: • Manage contract negotiations, vendor selection, and procurement strategies. • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and monitor vendor performance. • Optimize procurement strategies to achieve cost-effectiveness and timely project execution. • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to mitigate supply chain risks. Strategic Planning & Execution: • Develop long-term strategies for green hydrogen project development and expansion. • Align project goals with business objectives and sustainability targets. • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance competitiveness and market positioning. • Ensure execution of key strategies to drive efficiency and profitability. Change Management: • Lead organizational and operational changes to improve project execution and business performance. • Implement change management frameworks to drive adoption of new processes and technologies. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions. • Foster a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement. Cost & Financial Management: • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and optimization. • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decisions. • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to project execution and operations. Construction & Safety Management: • Ensure adherence to construction schedules, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations. • Implement and enforce site safety policies in compliance with industry regulations. • Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies for safe plant operations. Industry Regulations & Compliance: • Ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and environmental norms. • Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals, permits, and audits. • Keep up to date with changes in policies and ensure timely implementation. Page 3 of 3 Quality & Engineering Standards: • Maintain high-quality standards in project execution and operations. • Ensure adherence to international and national engineering and safety standards. • Conduct audits, inspections, and quality assessments to enhance plant performance. Leadership & Team Management: • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. • Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. • Set goals, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement within the team. Key Requirements: Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical) or a related field. • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project management, process engineering, and construction within the energy, hydrogen, or chemical industry. • Experience in green hydrogen, renewable energy, or industrial gases is preferred. Technical Skills: • Strong knowledge of hydrogen production technologies (electrolysis, compression, storage, and transportation). • Expertise in EPC project execution and construction management. • Familiarity with industry standards such as PESO, CTE, CTO, and environmental norms. • Proficiency in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis for large-scale projects. • Expertise in conceptual engineering, process integration, and plant optimization. • Strong understanding of contract management, procurement strategies, and strategic planning. • Experience in implementing change management initiatives. Soft Skills: • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills. • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking. • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
