Full description from employer

(i.e.,) are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Application support team for one of our enterprise clients and help keep their digital delivery teams unblocked and shipping reliably. This role is designed to be hands-on, practical, and focused on keeping systems running smoothly while we build a better way of working.

Research indicates that certain demographic groups, such as women, may be less inclined to apply for a role unless they meet all the job requirements. If you're interested in this role, we strongly encourage you to apply, as you might be just what we're looking for.

The salary band for this role: $110,000 - $140,000 (Inclusive of Superannuation)

About the opportunity

As a Consultant in our DevOps Application Support discipline, your primary role is to support and improve the systems that keep our client's digital delivery teams moving, from pipelines through to the incidents that pop up along the way. An important part of your role is also to help the team find better ways of working to support software delivery engineers.

You will sit within a cross-functional team to support with:

  • Keeping our client's applications (hosted on Azure environments) running reliably
  • Supporting the Sitecore CMS platforms and the .NET Core APIs behind them
  • Building NewRelic dashboards to proactively monitor the system performance
  • Responding to and resolving incidents, including after hours when a P1 comes in
  • Working alongside delivery teams to unblock releases and smooth out friction points
  • Balancing day-to-day support and operations with longer-term platform improvements
  • Helping build a better way of working and development experience as the team takes over from the outgoing provider

We value demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Bitbucket for source control
  • NewRelic monitoring
  • Sitecore CMS and the .NET Core APIs that support it
  • Next.js, React, and TypeScript, ideally alongside Storybook and Chromatic
  • A broad, polyglot approach to engineering, since this role touches a wide range of tools and systems

It would also help if you've used tools like Azure AppInsights, Postman, PagerDuty or ServiceNow, though we don't expect experience across all of them.

About You

  • You're analytical, and you enjoy getting to the bottom of a problem rather than patching over it
  • You communicate clearly, whether you're explaining an incident to a delivery team or flagging a risk early
  • You stay steady when priorities shift fast, a P1 incident will always take priority over planned work
  • You're comfortable moving between hands-on support and longer-term improvement work
  • You're happy to be part of an on-call roster (approx 1 week per month) and respond to incidents outside business hours when needed
  • You take ownership of problems rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • You collaborate well, and you're just as comfortable supporting teammates as you are working independently
  • You're curious about new tools and technologies, and you pick things up quickly across a broad stack

The Consultant We Value

We value talent who put our clients first - always - with humility, sharp intellect, and unwavering integrity. A servant leader at heart, they earn trust through action, respect privacy, and consistently leave things better than they found them. Fuelled by a growth mindset and lifelong learning, they adapt with intention and evolve through structured innovation. They listen deeply, share openly, align swiftly, and go boldly. This is the consultant who not only delivers, but inspires.

  • A focus on growth and training - training days every quarter, a structured feedback and goal setting program and tailored learning and development experiences
  • A work environment that aims to bring people together to celebrate both socially and culturally

Respectfully, we are not looking for any help from recruitment agencies with this role, and applications will need to address your experience/skill across the key performance areas.
