About the Role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. Reporting to the Technical Lead DevOps, you will play a key role in delivering, managing and continuously improving the cloud-based platforms and services that support our organisation's cloud-first strategy. As a technical specialist, you will work closely with senior colleagues to design, implement and maintain secure, resilient and scalable cloud solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that services are delivered to agreed standards and service levels while supporting the adoption of modern DevOps practices across the organisation.

The role offers the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of our cloud and DevOps capabilities, helping to shape technical standards, improve processes and introduce innovative solutions. You will be involved in the implementation, deployment and integration of new technologies, ensuring successful delivery and ongoing operational excellence.

A key part of the role will be maintaining and enhancing cloud platforms through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enabling greater efficiency, consistency and reliability across environments. You will ensure effective monitoring, alerting, security controls and governance processes are in place to support safe and secure operations.

You will also contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, identify opportunities to modernise and optimise technology services, and collaborate with suppliers, stakeholders and third-party partners to ensure services are delivered effectively and contractual commitments are met.

As part of a regulated and security-conscious environment, you will help ensure systems remain compliant with organisational security policies, industry standards and controls, including patch management, governance requirements and ongoing assurance activities. You will also support risk management activities, promote a culture of continuous improvement and occasionally provide out-of-hours support when required.

About You

You should be a technically capable DevOps professional with a passion for cloud technologies, automation and delivering high-quality services. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges while balancing operational priorities, security requirements and business needs.

You will have a strong technical background, with experience working within IT services, cloud-based platforms and project delivery environments. You are comfortable working with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers and can build effective relationships across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

Your communication skills allow you to present information clearly and confidently, challenge constructively when required and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will have experience working in structured technology environments and will understand the importance of governance, compliance, risk management and operational resilience.
