Shaping Financial Strategy. Enabling Business Performance — Join our team as our next DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING & FINANCE / CORPORATE CONTROLLER in this onsite / in-person role based in Austin, Texas.

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to oversee the company’s global financial management and lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounting and Finance department for post-M&A Velocity Electronics.  Enjoy the ability to truly impact and drive the Velocity business while being part of a leading global organization (Jabil) offering comprehensive engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions.

This Director will collaborate cross-functionally and cross-organizationally to plan, implement, manage, and control all finance-related activities of the company, while providing strategic leadership across the organization. The role is responsible for directing and overseeing the Finance & Accounting functions, with full accountability for accounting operations, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, treasury, tax, audit, and inventory control.

 

What can you expect to do?

  • US GAAP & Financial Reporting: Lead general accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP, including oversight of day-to-day operations, consolidation and preparation of global and regional financial statements, analysis of financial results, and development and implementation of accounting policies.
  • Operational Accounting Leadership: Lead key operational accounting functions, including credit, collections, payroll, accounts payable, etc.
  • Broad Collaboration: Collaborate across functions, regions, and the broader Jabil organization to drive alignment and support achievement of company objectives.
  • Audit & Tax Compliance: Manage financial statement audits and ensure full compliance with tax requirements, in partnership with corporate functions.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure effective internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets, maintain compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Systems & Process Enablement: Partner cross-functionally to ensure the effectiveness of technology tools that support the Accounting and Finance functions.
  • Cash Management: Actively manage cash position and cash forecasting to ensure efficient and value-accretive use of company resources.
  • Strategic Financial Advisory: Advise senior management on the financial implications of business and regulatory activities and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, coach, and mentor managers and staff to build a high-performing finance organization.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development and ongoing evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage financial forecasting and budgeting processes to support business planning and decision-making.

 

What is the experience and knowledge needed to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced degree preferred; active CPA license required
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience in a multinational enterprise managing a geographically dispersed team
  • Expert knowledge of US GAAP, consolidations and intercompany accounting structures and processes
  • Strong experience with ERP systems; Velocity is on a custom-built ERP with manual integrations and plans to ultimately integrate into SAP
  • Strong ability to see the big picture without losing sight of relevant details and effectively communicate both with / to all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to streamline, optimize, and improve financial processes
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make supportable decisions
  • Strong capability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
