  • Oversees Front Office, Business Center, Retail, Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Loss Prevention, Food and Beverage, Banqueting and Culinary.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives.
  • Ensures the Rooms and Food & Beverage operations meets the brand’s target customer needs, ensures associate satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues, and maximizes the financial performance of the department.
  • Develops and implements hotel-wide strategies as a member of the executive committee that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and associates and provide a return on investment to the owner and Marriott International.

JOB SUMMARY 

Functions as the Strategic Business Leader of Rooms and Food and Beverage operations and acts as General Manager in his/her absence. Areas of responsibility include Front Office, Business Center, Retail, Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Loss Prevention, Food and Beverage, Banqueting and Culinary. Position oversees the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives.  The position ensures the Rooms and Food & Beverage operations meets the brand’s target customer needs, ensures associate satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues, and maximizes the financial performance of the department.  As a member of the executive committee develops and implements hotel-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and associates and provide a return on investment to the owner and Marriott International.

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience 

  • Proven experience within the London luxury hospitality market is essential. 
  • A strong background working within a five-star luxury hotel, luxury lifestyle brand, or equivalent high-end hotel environment is a key requirement of the role. 
  • Significant operational leadership experience across both Food & Beverage and Rooms divisions is essential, with a demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences and commercial results. 
  • Previous experience as a Director of Operations is preferred. 

 

Skills and Knowledge 

  • Extensive knowledge of hotel operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banqueting
  • Solid knowledge of food and beverage concepts and sales strategies
  • Knowledge of revenue management and marketing strategies 
  • Ability to understand complex sales organization and corresponding sales processes
  • Retail merchandising skills
  • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment
  • Knowledge of overall hotel operations essential
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA)
  • Working knowledge of hotel laws governing operations
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to effectively manage labor productivity
  • Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning
  • Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Ability to evaluate business trends, determine applicability to customer profile, and modify business strategies accordingly 
  • Ability to creatively execute against the strategy and drive results; can originate and invent new ways to create a unique guest experience and maximize revenue
