Join the pre-opening team of a new Avani hotel in Singapore and play a key role in shaping the culture, talent, and success of an exciting new hospitality destination.
At Avani, we create stylish and seamless experiences for modern travellers. We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Director of People & Culture to lead our People & Culture function, build an engaged and high-performing team, and partner with the leadership team to bring our vision to life from opening day and beyond.
What You'll Do
- Lead the People & Culture strategy for the hotel, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand values
- Partner closely with the General Manager and Executive Committee on all people-related matters
- Drive pre-opening recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, and talent acquisition initiatives
- Develop and implement employee engagement, learning and development, and wellbeing programs
- Oversee performance management, succession planning, and talent development strategies
- Manage compensation, benefits, employee relations, and recognition programs
- Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation, work pass requirements, statutory obligations, and company policies
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing People & Culture team while fostering a positive workplace culture
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Human Resources or People & Culture leadership role
- Previous experience within international hospitality organizations is highly preferred
- Proven People & Culture leadership experience in a hotel pre-opening environment, particularly in Singapore, is highly desirable
- Strong business partnering, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record in talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English and comfortable working with HR systems and technology
- Strong knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, work pass administration, statutory requirements, and HR best practices
- Previous People & Culture leadership experience within Singapore hospitality is required
