Job Description

Director, Sales & Marketing Finance – APAC

We are seeking a results-oriented finance leader to serve as a trusted and strategic partner to the APAC Sales and Marketing leadership teams. In this highly visible individual contributor role, you will translate regional go-to-market strategies into actionable financial plans that drive profitable growth across the APAC region.

This role requires strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence outcomes through collaboration rather than authority. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, operates with a high degree of autonomy, and partners effectively across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for APAC Sales and Marketing leaders, providing insight, challenge, and decision support
  • Advise on headcount planning, territory design, channel strategy, and marketing investment allocation, balancing growth objectives with financial discipline
  • Support execution of global GTM strategies within the APAC, adapting financial frameworks to regional market dynamics
  • Influence senior stakeholders through fact-based analysis, scenario modeling, and clear financial narratives

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and long-range outlooks for APAC Sales and Marketing functions
  • Ensure alignment between sales incentives, marketing investments, and regional revenue and margin targets
  • Develop and maintain analytical models and decision frameworks to support pricing, promotions, demand programs, and investment tradeoffs
  • Evaluate ROI of marketing campaigns and sales initiatives, translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations to design, review, and validate incentive plans that drive desired behaviors while maintaining budget integrity

Operational Excellence & Business Insights

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly business reviews that go beyond reporting to explain underlying drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, reporting quality, and financial transparency across the APAC
  • Champion process simplification, automation, and standardization in partnership with FP&A, IT, and Operations
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc analyses to support time-sensitive executive decisions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience in a publicly held company, with demonstrated success in FP&A or commercial finance roles
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Marketing, GTM, or Revenue organizations, preferably in technology, consumer electronics, or semiconductor environments
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and ROI evaluation
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority through data-driven insights and sound judgment
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvements and operating rigor across cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to executive audiences
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan)
