The Role:

The Director, Technical Training & Qualifications is responsible for building and leading Atlas Energy Solutions’ Technical Training & Qualifications Center of Excellence (COE) across Power, Sand, and Logistics.

Reporting to the VP, Head of Human Resources, this leader will establish the enterprise framework, standards, processes, tools, and governance required to consistently develop and qualify Atlas’s technical workforce.

The Director will partner closely with Operations, Operational Excellence, Safety, Engineering, Talent & Culture, and technical subject matter experts to create a repeatable approach for translating critical work and standard operating procedures into effective technical training and demonstrated qualifications.

This role is a core component of Atlas’s workforce resilience strategy. By creating greater visibility into technical capabilities, building deeper benches of qualified employees, reducing reliance on tribal knowledge, and creating repeatable pathways to develop critical skills, the Technical Training & Qualifications COE will help ensure Atlas has the qualified workforce needed to safely and reliably operate today while preparing for future growth.

 Responsibilities:

Build the Technical Training & Qualifications COE

  • Design, stand up, and lead an enterprise COE supporting Power, Sand, and Logistics.
  • Establish consistent standards, methodologies, tools, and processes for technical training and qualifications.
  • Build scalable programs that support business growth, new facilities, changing technologies, and evolving workforce needs.

Establish Technical Qualification Frameworks

  • Develop role-based skills matrices and qualification pathways for critical technical roles.
  • Establish standards for competency assessment, qualification, certification, refresher training, and requalification.
  • Create visibility into who is trained, who is qualified, and where critical capability gaps exist.

Build Technical Training Programs

  • Partner with technical subject matter experts to develop practical, role-based training.
  • Translate SOPs and standard work into effective training and qualification requirements.
  • Build technical onboarding pathways that accelerate employees from hire to qualified performance.
  • Determine when programs should be developed internally, with vendors, or through external partners.

Strengthen Workforce Capability

  • Identify critical technical capabilities and workforce gaps across the organization.
  • Build cross-training and multi-skilling strategies that increase qualified bench strength.
  • Partner with Workforce Planning and Talent Management to anticipate future technical capability needs.
  • Create repeatable ways to capture and transfer critical technical knowledge.

Lead Programs, Technology & Measurement

  • Lead business-aligned Program Managers supporting Power, Sand, and Logistics.
  • Manage the enterprise roadmap for technical training and qualification programs.
  • Partner on LMS, learning technology, simulation, digital learning, AI, and other scalable training solutions.
  • Establish meaningful measures including time to qualification, qualification coverage, skills gaps, cross-training, training effectiveness, and workforce readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications
