• Engagement: W2 Contract position 40 hrs/week, through We Are Rosie

Job Description

Our client, a leading national restaurant brand, is looking for a hands-on UX Creative Director to lead day-to-day design across a portfolio of five restaurant-facing digital products. These are the tools that power the in-restaurant and delivery experience: point-of-sale and commerce, operator and team-member tools, local restaurant marketing, and delivery.

You'll direct a small team of product designers (2), own design quality and completeness across all five products, and act as the right hand to the team's design leader. That frees leadership to focus on roadmap, prioritization, and cross-functional strategy while you keep the work moving and the bar high.

Their digital organization spans many teams, each focused on its own priorities. The best creative directors here are connectors and peacemakers. They bring stakeholders fresh perspective, push back with care, and shield designers so they can do their best work.

What you'll do

• Direct the daily work of a team of 2-3 product designers across five restaurant-facing products, each with its own users, requirements, and stakeholders.
• Be an active, in-the-work creative director: review work in Figma, give clear and actionable critique, and step in to design when needed.
• Make sure every design meets its requirements before it ships, from information architecture and flows to edge cases and final detail.
• Coach designers at different experience levels. Give structure and guidance to those who need it, and room to run for those who don't.
• Serve as the buffer between stakeholders and designers. Absorb competing requests, translate feedback, and protect the team's focus.
• Build alignment across siloed product, engineering, operations, and business teams. Help each group see beyond its local problem to the full customer and restaurant experience.
• Push back constructively when design quality or user needs are at risk, and bring stakeholders along with fresh perspectives rather than just saying no.
• Partner closely with the design leader and Head of Digital Product Design on priorities, sequencing, and design approach across the portfolio.
• Keep design consistent across products, working with the design systems function to reuse patterns and components.

Qualifications

What you bring

• 10+ years in UX or product design, including 3+ years as a creative director, design director, or design manager leading a team.
• A track record of directing designers across several products or workstreams at once, not just one product.
• Hands-on strength in Figma and a portfolio showing both your own craft and the work of teams you've led.
• Deep grounding in UX fundamentals: information architecture, interaction design, and turning complex requirements into clear, usable experiences.
• Standout stakeholder skills. You can disagree, reframe, and still leave the room with the relationship intact.
• Experience working in large, matrixed organizations where alignment has to be earned across teams.
• A coaching mindset and patience for developing designers at different levels.
• Ability to work on-site in Atlanta 2 days per week is a MUST

Nice to have

• Experience designing operational or enterprise tools: POS, commerce, CRM, logistics, or delivery and driver apps.
• Restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry background.
• Experience designing for both front-of-house and back-of-house users.
• Comfort working alongside design systems and design technologist partners.
