This leadership position assumes responsibility for maintaining brand standards at the Dutch Wonderland Inn. The role responsibilities include maximizing financial performance, high-quality standards, superior guest satisfaction and overall team development. This position reports to the General Manager of the resort.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Supervisory Duties:

    · Manage all aspects of the lodging team and any other assigned departments

    · Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Herschend’s core values

    · Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members

    · Manage and control all financial aspects of assigned departments while maximizing revenue and cost savings opportunities; maintain constant vigilance over departmental spending and budgets

    · Act as a strategic visionary to implement measures that will favorably impact process, people, and/or profit

    · Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests

    · Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned lodging positions and backfill these positions when needed

    · Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline

    · Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA law

    · Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities

    Departmental Duties:

    · Create an environment that drives excellent NPS results

    · Understand and ensure that the operation remains in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority

    · Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing process evaluations and ensuring exceptional guest experience

    · Monitor the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and financial reports; take immediate action when issues or challenges begin to impact guest satisfaction

    · Develop insightful short and long-term objectives consistent with the budget, forecast, and company goals

    · Monitor and adjusts ADR, room availability, rates for transient and group nights

    · Participate in capital planning for property expansion, which includes leading the project management of all capital investment projects and refurbishments

    · Prepare financial reports for the company that clearly explain operational effectiveness and trends; analyze variances and take action to achieve established financial goals and performance expectations

    · Explore and propose options to increase secondary spends in the restaurant, cafe, bar, retail store, and other opportunities

    · Maintain an appropriate level of community public affairs involvement

    · Implement marketing and sales plans to ensure excellent delivery of special events

    · Ensure that all operational direction is relevant to produce tangible results

    · Perform other day-to-day responsibilities, including room inspections, daily reports, yield management, weekly department head meetings, budgeting, forecasting, inventories, internal financial controls, and training and development

    · Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees by attending Safety Committee meetings and strictly adhering to company policies as well as local, state, and federal guidelines

    · Lead, schedule, and participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) and Leader on Duty (LOD) rotation for the Inn

    · All other duties assigned by leadership

    Education and Experience:

    · High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

    · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline highly desired; Equivalent work experience will also be considered

    · 3-5 years of progressive supervisory and/or leadership experience in hospitality/hotel front line and management positions

    · Previous experience or familiarity with software programs such as: yield management systems, property management system (PMS), daily revenue system (DRS), central reservation system, and payroll

    · Certification as a Hospitality Administrator or Lodging Manager preferred

    Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

    Requirements:

    · Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with [State] Child Labor Laws

    · Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

    · Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

    · Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

    · Ability to portray a positive, outgoing, professional attitude

    · Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with poise and finesse

    · Ability to work in a team environment with a self-motivated, solution-oriented mindset

    · Must possess strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze and interpret data

    · Must possess critical thinking and analytical skills to process data and make next-step recommendations

    · Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

    · Must possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

    · Ability to accurately use Point of Sale (POS) and/or other cash handling equipment

    · Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier

    · Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point

    Physical Requirements:

    · Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday

    · Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

    · Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer

    · Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds

    Working Conditions:

    · This role will be based in an office setting as well as all other indoor and outdoor areas of the property

    · Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures on occasion, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

    · Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities

    · Subject to constant repetitive motion
