About this role

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment for construction, industrial, commercial, or manufacturing projects. The role ensures that electrical systems are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, control, and automation systems.
  • Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing.
  • Supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards, project requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, project documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Review contractor submittals, method statements, and material specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, international standards, and company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians and junior engineers.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and electrical design.
  • Proficiency in reading and preparing electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, or similar engineering software.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, or applicable local regulations).
  • Ability to perform electrical calculations, system analysis, and fault investigations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and engineering documentation.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
