Are you a student with a passion for Automation, Robotics, AI and data, and curious to see how advanced technology can improve real‑world logistics decisions? GXO Logistics is offering an exciting internship position within our Solutions Design organization, focused on enabling smarter, faster, and more consistent solution development through AI.

GXO’s Solutions Design team creates end‑to‑end logistics solutions for new and existing customers, covering warehouse design, automation, workforce models, and cost structures. With increasing solution complexity and scale, AI offers a strong opportunity to enhance the way we design and evaluate proposals.

 

What you do on a typical day

As an AI Enablement Intern within Solutions Design, you will work closely with Solutions Design professionals to explore how AI tools can support and enhance their daily work. Your activities will focus on analyzing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and testing practical AI applications.

Your responsibilities include:

• Analyzing the current Solutions Design workflow and identifying bottlenecks
• Investigating how AI can support knowledge management and reuse from previous proposals
• Supporting data analysis of customer volumes and operational requirements
• Exploring AI‑supported scenario comparison and sensitivity analysis
• Using Generative AI to assist with solution narratives, assumptions, and consistency checks
• Researching and evaluating existing AI tools and platforms
• Developing one or more small‑scale demonstrations or proof‑of‑concepts
• Gathering feedback from Solutions Design stakeholders
• Delivering structured recommendations, insights, and next steps

What do you need to be successful at GXO?

• Bachelor or Master student in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Interest in applying AI in operational and business environments
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with stakeholders
• Experience with data analysis, AI tools, or Generative AI is a strong plus
• Curiosity, structure, and a practical mindset
