Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. Perform and supervise insulation resistance, continuity, functional, protection relay, and operational tests. Troubleshoot electrical faults and recommend corrective actions. Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, method statements, and commissioning procedures. Supervise and guide electrical technicians during testing and commissioning activities. Coordinate energization, isolation, shutdown, and start-up activities. Ensure testing instruments are calibrated and suitable for use. Prepare test reports, commissioning records, punch lists, and system handover documentation. Coordinate with construction, engineering, client, vendor, and operations teams. Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and electrical safety standards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 8 years of relevant electrical experience, including significant commissioning experience. Strong experience in industrial, power, oil and gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects. Sound knowledge of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, generators, UPS systems, cables, protection systems, and control panels. Strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Experience leading and supervising teams of electrical technicians. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents. Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and commissioning documentation. Strong knowledge of LOTO, electrical isolation, permit-to-work, and HSE procedures.
