About this role

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance.

As part of Anglian Water’s @one Alliance, we are on a mission to create a sustainable and resilient future for water. With an ambitious £2.3 billion capital investment in AMP8, we are revolutionising infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation to protect the environment and support growing communities

What you’ll do:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work within a multi-disciplinary project team to develop and deliver water TOTEX solutions. You’ll lead mechanical design work across a range of clean water projects, ensuring high-quality, efficient outcomes that meet Anglian Water’s goals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading mechanical optioneering, identifying risks and gaps while ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Developing design calculations for mechanical, hydraulic, power-generating, and building services equipment.
  • Collaborating with the supply chain to assess new technologies and innovative solutions.Working with the design team to develop 3D models, P&IDs, and data sheets.
  • Providing mechanical input into commissioning plans, including HAZID and HAZOP studies and proposed performance tests.
  • Ensuring designs meet health, safety, and compliance standards under CDM regulations.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance digital delivery, sustainability, and project innovation.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive mechanical design experience.
  • Proven track record in designing hydraulic and mechanical systems and products.
  • Understanding of modular build, construction processes, and electrical control systems.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering value.
  • Willingness to explore new technologies and approaches to drive project efficiencies.
  • Advanced Level of English / ability to work in English
  • Willing to travel to UK on regular basis
