About the Role

As a Maintenance Foreman at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in leading and supervising the maintenance team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. You will contribute directly to improving equipment uptime, reducing costs, and enhancing overall plant performance.

You will collaborate with maintenance staff, operations, and management teams to coordinate repair schedules, implement preventive and predictive maintenance, and resolve equipment issues. This is an off-shift, on-site role located in Warren, OH.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in developing high-performing teams.

This positions is for 2pm-10pm and requires 6 days a week

What You’ll Do

  • Supervises and directs the day-to-day activities of maintenance staff through scheduling, planning, and coaching.

  • Drives high standards of workmanship and provides technical expertise to support team success.

  • Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards as well as company values and policies.

  • Coordinates maintenance activities with operations to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

  • Attends to quick resolution of equipment failures to maintain production uptime.

  • Monitors, evaluates, and communicates the status of equipment, systems, and facilities.

  • Implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

  • Partners with management to research and develop methods to enhance plant equipment, facilities, and processes.

  • Works with Purchasing to obtain required materials, parts, and contracted labor.

  • Supports recruitment, performance evaluations, employee development, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of mechanical/electrical supervisory experience in heavy industry.

  • Strong leadership, team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical, motivational, and communication abilities.

  • Skilled at coordinating multiple tasks, setting priorities, and achieving goals.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, maintenance management systems, and scheduling practices.

  • Ability to supervise complex maintenance and repair tasks.

  • Proficient in reading physical blueprints and CAD drawings.

  • General computer literacy required (MS Office programs).

  • Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends as needed.

  • Experience with SAP or other CMMS preferred.

  • Heavy equipment, machine shop, or facilities maintenance experience helpful.
