Electrical Project Engineer

A leading engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) to support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the UK nuclear sector. Working within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment, you'll join a well-established multidisciplinary team delivering projects that support one of the UK's key power generation sites.

Your new role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of assigned projects, working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and technical specialists to achieve agreed safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the development and delivery of project execution strategies.
Coordinating multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing project activities from design and procurement through to installation and commissioning.
Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Supporting planning, risk management, cost control and project reporting activities.
Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
Contributing to supplier management, design reviews and project governance processes.

This position is primarily site-based at Sizewell, although some flexible working may be available depending on project requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience within Electrical Engineering, High Voltage (HV) systems or Control & Instrumentation (C&I).
Project delivery experience within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, power generation, defence, utilities, infrastructure, chemicals or oil & gas.
Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Knowledge of project controls including planning, estimating, cost management and risk management.
Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
SMSTS qualification or equivalent is desirable.
Chartered Engineer status, or progression towards Chartership, would be advantageous.
