Electrical Supervisor

Project Management and Supervision: Supervise, plan, and coordinate electrical work on assigned projects, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule and budget. Conduct regular site inspections to confirm compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Identify and address potential issues to minimize delays and ensure smooth project flow. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians, apprentices, and assistants. Assign daily tasks, provide technical guidance, and support team members in troubleshooting complex electrical problems. Ensure a productive and positive work environment that promotes adherence to safety and quality standards. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on completed electrical installations to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Identify and address any issues in workmanship, materials, or practices that could impact project quality or safety. Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols on the job site to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Conduct regular safety meetings and on-site inspections to identify and address hazards. Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, including electrical and building regulations. Resource Management: Coordinate ordering and management of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient resource use. Maintain inventory control, and ensure tools and materials are used properly and stored safely. Track resource usage and suggest cost-saving measures. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, labour hours, and incidents. Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, team performance, and any issues encountered. Coordination and Communication: Work collaboratively with other trade supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination. Communicate project status and issues to the Project Manager and resolve conflicts as they arise. Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical work is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Certifications: Valid electrician’s license; additional certifications in safety, project management, or electrical systems are advantageous. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations. Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
