Electrical Supervisor – Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Electrical Supervisor to supervise electrical installation, maintenance, and testing activities at project sites. The Electrical Supervisor will ensure that electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily electrical installation and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate and allocate work to electricians, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
• Ensure electrical installations are carried out according to approved drawings and project requirements.
• Supervise installation of cables, cable trays, conduits, distribution boards, panels, lighting, switches, sockets, and other electrical systems.
• Monitor installation of power, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, and other electrical services.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and interior teams.
• Inspect completed electrical works and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify electrical faults, installation issues, and coordination problems and report them to the Electrical Engineer.
• Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor material requirements and coordinate with stores/procurement teams.
• Supervise cable pulling, termination, glanding, testing, and related activities.
• Assist engineers during testing, commissioning, inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, inspection records, and work documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure timely completion of assigned electrical works.
• Ensure all electrical activities comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Enforce safe working practices, permit requirements, and proper PPE usage.
• Ensure electrical tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
• Report unsafe conditions, electrical hazards, equipment failures, and work delays immediately.
• Assist in preparing as-built information and handover documentation.
• Participate in site meetings and provide progress updates to the Electrical Engineer or Project Manager.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain a safe and organized work area.

Requirements

• Diploma or ITI/technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical installation and site supervision.
• Experience in construction, fit-out, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, or MEP projects is preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams.
• Experience supervising electricians, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of electrical panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, containment, and testing procedures.
• Good understanding of electrical safety standards and safe working practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage manpower and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to work at project sites and flexible hours when required.
