Electrical Technician

Job Description: The Category A Technician is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, fire extinguisher systems, and fire suppression systems. This role requires technical expertise in electrical systems and fire safety, along with experience in troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring the proper functioning of safety systems. The technician will work across the Dar and Arusha regions and must be proactive in ensuring compliance with safety standards. A driving license and certification in electrical work are essential for this role. Responsibilities: Design, install, and maintain fire alarm systems. Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure functionality of fire alarm systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire alarm systems. Install, service, and maintain fire extinguishers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Provide training on the correct usage and maintenance of fire extinguishers. Design and install fire suppression systems (wet/dry chemical). Perform maintenance, inspections, and testing of fire suppression systems to ensure effectiveness. Work with clients to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Perform electrical installation and maintenance for fire safety systems. Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes. Maintain records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in electrical systems or fire safety systems is preferred. Electrical certification is an added advantage. Proven experience with fire alarm, fire extinguisher, and fire suppression systems. Experience in electrical systems maintenance and repair. Strong knowledge of fire safety systems and electrical systems. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and fire safety systems. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel between job sites and transport equipment.
