What you'll do

  • Assemble and integrate space-grade solar arrays, including solar cells, electrical harnesses, and structural components.
  • Manufacture, install, and inspect power and signal harnesses in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 requirements.
  • Perform soldering, rework, bonding, and integration of electrical and electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 Class 3 requirements.
  • Perform electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, functional, and IV curve testing.
  • Set up and operate electrical test equipment and automated test benches used for product verification and acceptance testing.
  • Support Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities, including environmental testing campaigns such as vibration, thermal vacuum, and deployment testing.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, integration, and test issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, FOD, cleanroom, workmanship, and traceability requirements.
  • Identify and document non-conformities and support corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of production processes, tooling, and work instructions.

About the role

As Electrical Technician - Solar Arrays (f/m/d), you will play a hands-on role in building and testing the solar arrays that power spacecraft from Low Earth Orbit to the Moon and beyond. Working alongside engineers, technicians, and production specialists, you will assemble, integrate, and verify flight hardware to the highest quality standards.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building things that matter. We are looking for a practical, detail-oriented technician who takes pride in craftsmanship, solves problems proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate space-grade solar arrays, including solar cells, electrical harnesses, and structural components.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Technical apprenticeship, vocational qualification, technician certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics, electrical assembly, mechatronics, aerospace manufacturing, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical assembly, harness manufacturing, testing, or production.

  • Experience working in aerospace, electronics, medical, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with cleanroom, ESD, and quality-controlled manufacturing processes.

  • IPC certifications (IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or IPC J-STD-001) are highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, crimping, connector assembly, soldering, and rework.

  • Experience using electrical test equipment and performing troubleshooting activities.

  • Familiarity with traceability, non-conformance reporting, and high-reliability workmanship standards.

  • Experience with adhesives, bonding processes, and controlled curing operations is an advantage.
