Job Purpose The Electrician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in company vehicles and related facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted transportation operations. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in company vehicles (buses, trucks, tankers, trailers, etc.). Troubleshoot faults in starters, alternators, batteries, wiring, lighting systems, sensors, and control units. Install and maintain GPS trackers, fuel monitoring systems, tachographs, cameras, and other electronic devices. Conduct routine electrical inspections and preventive maintenance for fleet vehicles. Maintain electrical installations in workshops, depots, offices, and yards. Repair and service generators, compressors, battery chargers, and workshop electrical tools. Ensure proper grounding, circuit protection, and compliance with electrical safety standards. Follow company safety policies and electrical safety procedures at all times. Ensure all electrical work complies with national electrical regulations and transport safety standards. Report electrical hazards, faults, or non-compliance issues promptly. Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and inspection reports. Report recurring electrical issues and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Work closely with mechanics and fleet supervisors to resolve vehicle breakdowns. Provide technical guidance on electrical matters when required. Requirements Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Auto Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as an electrician, preferably in a transportation or fleet environment. Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
