Electro Mechanical Engineer Rolling Stock

Summary: Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service, and maintenance. Position Summary You will be responsible for engineering change and modifications to new fleets in this role— understanding electrical schematics and replacing some electrical items. You will be expected to complete Electrical re-fits from written work instruction, including doors, traction, and underframe items on Rolling Stock. You will also be expected to remove and replace the entire interior and replace all electrical items. You will be expected to test and inspect all replaced components where necessary, along with field maintenance technicians and engineers, so you must be competent in this area. Understanding of rolling stock conditional assessments, risk assessment, rolling stock standards are necessary. This is a safety-critical position against service agreement and customer requirements. Having a strong electrical background as a Rolling Stock Project Engineer on projects such as maintenance, retrofits, refurbishments, and overhauls is necessary for this position.

Key Responsibilities: • Review approved modification for safety assurance and implementation • Assist with modification evaluation, engineering change and change request with central engineering team • Support modification implementation at the depot level • Ability to write and modify vehicle maintenance instructions, service, and technical bulletins • Analyse impact of modifications on reliability, maintainability, and safety on the rolling stocks • Supporting rolling stock software updates and upgrades • Responsible for internal and external stakeholder's meetings to manage modification and engineering change requests regularly. Experience – Rolling Stock Project Engineer Experience of Overhauls & Refurbishment Projects. Electrical Bias Background 37.5 Hour Standard Working Week with Flexible & Agile Working At least 3 – 5 years of experience with rolling stock modification

' Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor.- AutoCAD, CREO is preferred

Technical Competencies

Mechanical Eng/ Electrical Eineering Expertise

• Strong knowledge of rail rolling stock systems, structural integrity, fatigue, crashworthiness, and dynamics.
• CAD & Simulation
• Proficiency in Creo, or Autodesk Inventor.

Rail Standards & Compliance

• Familiarity with Rail Industry Standards (RIS), BS/EN, GM/RT, ISO, ASME codes, and vehicle acceptance processes.
• Manufacturing & Materials
• Understanding of metals, composites, joining methods, and rail manufacturing techniques.
• Testing & Validation
• Knowledge of structural testing, fatigue analysis, crash testing, and thermal/mechanical performance validation.
• Asset Management Tools
• Familiarity with Ellipse, Maximo, or other rail asset management systems.

• Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or master’s degree (MEng) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
